Gemini and YouTube Music App on Android

Stephen Headrick / Android Authority

Imagine to have a lot of DJ in your pocket, ready to mix your favorite songs on a moment’s notice. No, your father’s 3-5 seconds is not a crossfid, but instead there is a fully custom mix that he makes two songs that you are moving together as he was designed by the artists himself. This is the idea behind Apple Music’s upcoming AI -powered automax feature, which is coming up with iOS 26 release of this fall.

This is the first time I have also batted on one of Apple’s few Android apps, as a former Spatif user and a YouTube music user for years. I’m not really a big fan of old school cross -functionality, but it’s different. Google is adding a permanent gym-powered features to all of its vertical parts-including the central YouTube app-but so far, we have not seen this AI capacity in YouTube music. Automix is a seemingly small Apple music feature that has major implications, and I have some ideas about how Google can bring Gemini’s experience in its music app.

Which music streaming service do you use?

DJ Apple, rotate this track!

Apple first announced automix in June this year’s WWDC, which is its annual developer conference. In his own wordsIn this feature, “constant playback and even more smooth listening experience” is used to draw time and match matching. “With aside marketing jirgons, there is a clear difference that you can hear with automix active than the standard cross -feed. Details about how this feature works are low, but immediately after the IOS 26 developer beta released, the automax videos were less likely to be faster on my social media platforms.

Since the automix is not a pre -mixed song database and is powered by AI instead, the mixing experience may vary from the user to the user. Occasionally, mix are very inferior – remember, it’s still just a beta software – but more often, it doesn’t just work, it looks magical. It adds a completely new dimension to your music listening experience. I will note here that right now, automix works best when both songs are from similar gender or a similar beating per minute. He said, I would imagine that it would improve in the future.

Automix is not a completely new concept. In fact, Spatif issued its own choice on this feature under the same name years. It also uses bat matching to determine the best way to transfer the songs, but from the examples I have seen and read the user’s commentary, Apple Tech appears a sophisticated version. Perhaps progress in AI also allows for overall better mixing experience.

YouTube music needs to join the party

I’ve been converting to YouTube music for years, and all of them, I am very happy with this service. First and most importantly, it contains YouTube premium, which is one of the reasons I believe is one of the highest price subscriptions there. And according to Google’s credit, YouTube music has frequently improved its service, adding new features and making the user interface more attractive and user -friendly.

Google has added Gemini -driven capabilities to every corner of the universe. From YouTube to Google Workpace, Android devices and most of everything, you will likely find some kind of gymnasiumable feature. And it’s not like we haven’t seen Google double in the world of musicEither.

Google is adding Gemini everywhere. Is YouTube Music Next?

Google needs to join the personal DJ party, and it’s just the beginning of what they can do with the strength of Gemini. Automatically, honestly looks like a small increase as I write about it, but I can’t emphasize how different it feels like to hear music with this mixing. It makes this listening experienced experience, and I am confident in some form of strengthening this version of Google.

Let’s take it a little further than this relatively small automix feature. How can Gemini further enhance my music streaming experience? Other than Spotif DJ, do not look, a feature that has already been going on in the spotfall for a few years. Basically, Spotif is using AI to prepare playlists that you hear already, and with the help of my partner, he has helped to discover more new music than ever before. Imagine Google’s work on it: a gym directly, such as DJ, with whom you can talk back and forth and find the most relevant music, you can really improve your taste.

AIPlaylists on YouTube Music

YouTube music already has playlists produced by AI based on your text input. Time to take it to the next level with a direct experience like Gemini.

The point is: Google is already doing heavy lifting that will require this type of feature. It already contains a feature in the Google Discovery Fed called Daily Sun, where two AI -powered “podcast hosts” offer daily short form podcasts that with your interest news and information. And it works incredibly. Weird, if you ask me. And Google already produces playlists based on the text input. Gemini can only connect these points more efficiently.

Since this is a Gemini direct experience, why not just integrate something in your mic and create a playlist to sing DJ Gemini that is based on the vibration of whatever you sing. It seems incredibly and incredibly viable with the power of Gemini. I feel like we are just scratching the level here, and yet, as I have already said, most of it is already being done by Google anywhere else. Now, the YouTube music team only needs to package all this for its platform.

Is Apple’s DJ so good that I have to dig a YouTube music?

Changing music services is not at all. The app algorithm takes time to learn your preferences, and YouTube music now has many years of my listening data, so it’s great to suggest the right music (and podcast… yes, I also use this app for podcasts) at the right time.

Is Apple’s automix feature enough to please me to switch? Only time will tell, especially because we are not yet clear whether it will be the only iPhone characteristics or not, or if it will eventually reach the world of our green bubble. Since this is an AI -powered feature, Apple can decide that automix can only work on Apple Devices and Apple chips. I am not saying that it is not possible for them to bring Android, I just wonder if Apple will automatically use the On Device AI as the reason for keeping its devices special. That said, I tested this feature on the iPhone 14 Pro, which does not have access to Apple Intelligence, so I would guess that they would bring it to their Android app at some point, and may formally launch automix as soon as it falls.

For now, I’m sticking to YouTube music. I really have confidence in Gemini at this point, and it’s just getting better. The logical next step for the evolution of the AI platform in YouTube music is the next step. I remember when Google first launched Gemini – Remember Bard? – I wasn’t really sure what to make Google’s AI. The transfer by Google Assistant was really rocky before. But Gemini is really good. And even more importantly, the way it has been integrated into Google’s services has become extremely powerful. I use it a lot throughout my day. I think it’s just a matter of time before we see a feature like an automix presented in YouTube music, mostly with other modern features based on Gemini.
