  • YouTube is currently folding and opening the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Live on YouTube.
  • The phone has already survived more than 160,000 times.
  • The goal of Utuber is to manually connect the device 200,000 times and see if it is alive or not.

Updated: 5 August, 2025 (12:57 AM et): YouTuber has now crossed 160,000 times and shared some notable results along the way. Between 6,000 and 10,000 times, Utuber reports that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has faced a boot error again. About 46,000 layers, a loud sound started coming from the occupation. After 75,000 layers, an unknown liquid was seen rotating from the occupation area. Despite these problems, the device did not show any dead pixel on the internal display after 150,000 times, and the touch screen remained fully active. The only permanent problem was the cracking sound.

Original article: August 4, 2025 (1:15 AM et): A Korean Tech Utuber is currently putting the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 through extreme stability tests, with the aim of folding and presenting it directly to YouTube with the goal of killing 200,000 layers. Yes, by hand and no, we do not recommend trying it at home unless you have a lot of patience (and nothing good for several days). In fact, it is a good thing that YouTuber is working hard so the rest of us do not need.

How to hold the Galaxy Z Fold 7?

After writing this, the folded count has reached 113,368, that is, a day or so far from reaching the 200,000 mark. It is worth noting that Samsung has officially ranked 500,000 times in the ideal conditions of the Z -Fold 7 internal OLED panel. Nevertheless, manually combining it that may take a week several times and perhaps the dishonor of the YouTuber. The purpose of 200,000 layers looks like a more reasonable target.

On the way, YouTuber called for a certain milestone to call what the phone is doing. At 95,000 layers, everything looks normal. The display was presenting the colors correctly, the touch sensitivity was intact, and the components like the speaker were working well.

After hitting 100,000 layers, light cracking sound started coming up while opening and closing the phone. Despite the noise, the internal display continued to operate without flickering or visible damage.

Up to 105,021 layers, the screen was still fully active, though the crease was significantly deepened.

Will this make it 200,000? We think so. Samsung has used a 50 % thick ultra -thin glass (UTG) layer on an internal display of fold 7 to improve shock absorption. There is also a new high elastic adhesive that ties OLED layers and, according to Samsung, offers four times the maintenance performance than the previous material. Moreover, a high -power titanium plate backs the screen. With all of this, and the results of the lab were previously provided by Samsung, we feel that Fold 7 should avoid the UTP test.

However, since the fold test is being done manually and not in the control lab conditions, it should give us another realistic idea of how frequent folding affects the device in everyday use.

If you are interested, you can still catch the current series and see how the phone performs in real time.
