Pabels began as a real estate developer in Washington DC, but when a big deal went to the south, he turned to Miami, where he got a bid for the development of the Royal Palm Hotel. In doing so, Pebbles became the first African American business owner and manufacturer of an important hotel. Many years later, he bought the members only a bath club.
“This was a barrier to black businessmen,” said Pabels.

Drumand, who has played in the NBA since becoming teenage, has seen that fellow players face obstacles after being out of the game. He wants to set an example for young players that it is okay to have emotions and plans outside the court – and even beneficial.
“We always knock out of our game to work.” “If I can help the next person to see it and tell them that it is okay to work out of my game and get the game (beyond it), so we don’t have such a large number of boys who are struggling to know what to do after basketball is over.”

The Pebbles agreed to use someone’s game as a jumping off point to make a complementary career-who would help players unless they decide to retire, and that they can transfer their children to generate wealth from generations.
“You can’t give your children your skills, but you can give them your business,” says Pebbles. “And this is the place where the rally is. This is the next generation. If we can get everyone to think like this, we change our society.”
