When he touched the needle with his wrist, the streams whispered.

Jane learned to hear the language of water – not her voice, but her memory. In the waves crossing the pond, they read the pieces of time: a bird reflecting there once a day, the shadow of a baby that was once tied up. Each movement was an impression, each earthquake has a letter in the world’s archive. His job was not to record, but to remember it in a different way – when he dissolved, the pulse of the moment was to feel.

He called his craftsman a “rapist writing”. Using a thin needle of silver, Jane will detect the edges of disturbed water, making the unseen echoes left out of the lost gestures. For a few days he found a laughter trembling below the surface. On others, grief is like a slot. When he touched the needle with his wrist, the streams whispered.

As the years passed, the difference between his body and the protected documents softened. Her veins began to shine unconsciously by filming the delicate flow of the rivers. When he closed his eyes, he could see the stories turning the stories into the parliamentary waves. Jane again realized that the memory was not about holding, but about issuance – which was once solid to get back to infinite.

My name is Jane.
