It’s a shift from isolated experiences to enterprise readiness, where agents work as part of a unified, governed and productive system,” said Charles Lamana, Microsoft’s president of business apps and agents, in a blog post.

Microsoft 365 has five capabilities: Registry, Access Control, Visualization, Interoperability, and Security.
The first step to start observing tasks in Microsoft 365 is to log the agents that may exist, which will act as a single source of truth. The company calls this registry Intra.

Access control will require agents to have a unique agent ID, allowing enterprise admins to restrict access as needed. Organizations can set policies that agents must adhere to, and agents who misbehave with the device can be retaliated against.
Agent 365 also offers a visual dashboard, which allows companies to see how their agents are connected, measure performance and limit work.
For enterprises already dealing with agent proliferation, Microsoft’s approach stands out because it bundles what would normally be a patchwork of add-on tools into a single, government-controlled plane. Most observation options today are either siled features or separate platforms that add more complexity.
