How to Create New Code AI Workflows Using Active Money

by SkillAiNest

Artificial intelligence is now part of the daily work for many teams. People use it to write content, analyze data, respond to support requests, and guide business decisions.

But building AI workflows is still difficult for many users. Most tools require code, a complicated setup, or lengthy training.

ActivePace makes this very easy. It’s an open source tool that lets anyone build smart workflows with a simple visual builder.

You can meet AI models, data sources and systems without writing code. This makes automation more open to teams that want to work faster and reduce manual effort.

In this guide, we’ll learn what ActivePace is, how to work with it, and how to deploy your version to the cloud using Siola.

What we will cover

What is ActivePace?

Active Pieces is an open source automation platform focused on ease of use.

You can host it on your own server or use it in the cloud. The platform uses a clean flow builder where each block represents a step. These blocks are called pieces.

Active Pieces Layout

A fragment can call an API, connect to a tool like Google Sheets, run an AI model, or wait for human input. By connecting the pieces together, you can create workflows that act like agents.

They can listen to events, run analytics, generate content, evaluate data, or push results to other tools.

Understanding active pisces ecosystems

ActivePace’s primary goal is to allow both technical and non-technical users to create workflows that incorporate AI. It gives a simple visual interface but also has a strong developer layer under the hood.

Developers can create new fragments in TypeScript. These custom snippets then appear in Visual Builder for anyone to use. It hides advanced logic behind a friendly interface.

The platform has a growing library of over two hundred pieces. Many people come from the community.

Asset integration

These include common tools such as email, Slack, Google Workspace, OpenAI, and Idea. There are also pieces for reading links, parsing text, calling webhooks, or waiting for timed events.

The library grows quickly because anyone can contribute new pieces. Each fragment is an npm package, so it fits well into the wider JavaScript ecosystem.

ActivePace also supports human input. For example, a workflow can pause and wait for someone to review a message before sending it. It can also collect responses from a form.

These options make it possible to create flows that combine automation with human judgment. This is useful in tasks where risk or accuracy matters, such as compliance checks or approval flows.

A big part of the platform is its first design. It includes native support for popular AI providers. You can build agents that analyze text, rewrite messages, classify content, extract fields, or make decisions.

You can even ask AI to clean data within a flow, without the need for code. This makes it easy to use AI to speed up work and remove repetitive steps.

Building workflows in Active Money

Every workflow starts with a trigger. A trigger is an action that initiates a flow.

This can be a new message, a new file, a web request, or a time schedule. After the trigger fires, the flow proceeds step by step. Each step is a piece you choose from the library.

The builder displays the flow in a simple vertical layout. You can add branches, loops, retries and data mapping.

Asset Workflow

Data mapping is the process of telling a flow how to move information from one step to another. It uses a simple interface where you pick fields from previous steps and connect them to the new one.

When pieces of AI are added, the workflow becomes more powerful. For example, you can pass text from a form to an AI model and get a summary.

You can pass a link to a document and extract important points. You can ask the AI to answer a question or decide whether a message fits into a category. These results are then passed to the next stage, where they can be stored or sent.

Deploying Assets to the Cloud Using Seola

To use ActivePace, you can either install it on your computer (not recommended due to complicated setup), Buy a cloud subscriptionor host yourself.

If you prefer to install it on your computer, Here are the instructions.

Self-hosting gives you complete control and is generally preferred by technical teams who want to keep sensitive data in-house.

You can choose any cloud provider, such as AWS, Digitalisan, or others, to set up ActivePlace. But I will use Siola.

Seoul is a PAAS provider designed for developers and dev teams to consistently ship features and updates in the most efficient manner. It offers application hosting, database, object storage, and static site hosting for your projects.

I’m using Siola for two reasons:

  • Each platform will charge you to create a cloud resource. Siola comes with a $50 credit for our use, so we won’t incur any costs for this instance.

  • Seoul has one Template for active moneyso it simplifies the manual installation and setup for each resource you’ll need to install.

Login Click on Seela and Templates. You can see Active Pieces as one of the templates.

Seoul Templates

Click on the “Active Pieces” template. You will see the resources required to deliver the application. Click on “Deploy Template”.

Provision of Seoul

You can see that the resources are provisioned. Once the determination is complete, go to the ActivePlace application and click on “View App”. Enter your name, email, and password, and you’ll be taken to the dashboard.

Active Pieces Dashboard

Click on “New Flow”. You can either create a flow from scratch or choose one of the many templates ActivePace offers.

Let’s select the “LinkedIn Content Idea Generator” template.

Active Piece Templates

Click on “Use Template”. You will see a workflow created for you. You can also add/remove components based on your needs.

Asset Workflow

You will see an option to update each block of the workflow. You can create contacts from your email, Google Sheets, etc. to integrate them into blocks.

In the Rank news block, it will ask you to select a model and add your API key. For example, you can find your Openai API key here. You’ll also find a pre-built prompt template ready to use with your workflow.

AI component

Very nice! You now have a production-grade ActivePlace server running on the cloud. You can use it to organize all your workflows.

Real world examples

The sales team can automate lead enrichment by passing new leads through an AI model. AI extracts company size, industry and intent. The results go into a CRM. The team saves hours of manual research.

A content team can create a writing assistant. It collects ideas from a form, creates sketches using AI models, and stores drafts in Google Docs. Editors then refine the text.

The compliance team may process longer documents. They upload a file, an AI model extracts key rules, and the workflow sends a summary to reviewers. This makes it easier to track changes in regulations.

An operations team can check for new tickets in the help desk system. AI summarizes the ticket. The workflow checks the severity and sends it to the right team. This speeds up response times.

The result

The idea behind ActivePace is simple: automate tasks that slow you down. Mix AI with your tools. Create visual flow. Let both technical and non-technical users create automation. This helps teams move faster, reduce errors, and focus on meaningful work.

The rise of AI means teams will use more specialized models. They will also need seamless ways to connect these models to their everyday tools.

No-code platforms like ActivePace give teams control and speed without asking them to learn programming. The platform continues to improve with new pieces and stronger AI features. As society grows, the number of integrations available will increase.
