Tales: Grandparents’ stories, preserved for their grandchildren.

by SkillAiNest

Hey everyone, I’m Mowli, the creator of Tales.

My father is 73 years old. He has led an extraordinary life. Born in Ghana, fluent in Russian, watched Princess Diana attend the royal wedding, built a bank from scratch. He always wanted a memory. But he’s not keen on typing, so it never happened.

So I built the first version of Tellus for that. He talks, and he writes.

Now I know more about my father than ever before. And I’m mostly done worrying about losing her someday, because I have her voice and her stories with me forever.

Then her grandchildren, my nieces, wanted in. So we devised a way to turn her memories into children’s storybooks. Now they know their grandfather at bedtime.

This is a three generation problem. Grandparents have unusual stories. The grandkids will love them. But the adult cannot make the connection in between. There is no format for this. Newspapers remain empty. Recorders feel like an interview. The video is scary. So the stories quietly disappear.

Telus fixes it. Each sound recording becomes a polished memoir chapter and an ideal children’s storybook. One for their legacy, one for bedtime.

It’s free to try. I’d love your feedback: what works, what’s missing, what will make you use it every week.

It means a lot to me.
