How does bootcamp work?

Bad Website Club Bootcamps have been running for a while now, so if you’ve joined us in the past, it’s going to feel a little different.

As freeCodeCamp course content has expanded, we’ve adapted our learning structure to reflect what’s included.

We are experimenting with a flipped classroom model, where learners do pre-reading and more solo work before coming to a series of class sessions ready to help each other learn.

In addition, learners will be able to contribute to shared lesson notes that we will see in unit reviews. We’ll talk about some (not all!) of the workshop steps and offer space for Q&A in our live stream.

Labs and certification projects need to be done as solo work, but we’ll cover how to approach them on the streams and cover them in the Q&A.

We will move quickly, but there is no set deadline! If you need more time, your progress will be saved to your freeCodeCamp account. Also, videos and our discord are available after bootcamp ends.

Note that Bootcamp does not offer job placement assistance or 1:1 instructor support for learners due to the size of our learner base and global distribution. But we will help you learn the skills that prepare you to pursue opportunities on your own.

who are we

It is run by a small volunteer team (Jessica Rose, Carmen Hadobrowand Ada Erin – Thank you for the wonderful one too Carrie Who made all the art!) Plus, it’s truly free: there’s no way to pay for it.
