  • Several Pixel users are reporting contradictions between their camera view Finder previews and final processed images.
  • Most of the complaints are focused on more processed images with the wrong color balance.
  • The problem can be Google’s HDR processing, which cannot be turned off unfortunately.

Pixels have long been known for having some permanent and safest options for a great camera Android phone. Although there are Android flagships by Chinese brands that take better photos and videos these days, recent pixels like Pixel 9 series live upwards. However, not all users are happy with the pixel image processing, and we are seeing repeated complaints about more processed images.

A Reddit user Recently, his Pixel 9 Pro has gone to a rent about the photo processing, complaining that the picture he clicked often is completely different from his view Finder. The View Finder image shows the correct color, but after clicking the processed image eliminates the disturbance with color balance. The Reddater attached this comprehensive picture of his orange shelby for reference, with the processed image on the left, and the Wau Finder Image on the right:

Several others in the Reddate thread Agree.

Yes, when you take the picture, it looks good, you go to the gallery, see the good picture for seconds and then the application goes mad on processing. As a photographer hurts to see this.

The Reddate Post notes that the Ultra HDR has been closed on their phone, and there is no effect on changing the image resolution between 12MP and 50 MP. Moreover, even the “full color in photos” (which uses display P3 color shape instead of SRGB) has no effect, though the user recognizes that it can be a bug.

The Reddate Post mentions that users can overcome more processed images by turning on, choosing a different image, and saving it as a copy. If you don’t turn on top shot, there is no way for the user to close HDR processing, and you will be left with the wrong colored images.

One more Reddit user Like last month, it was rented, and this time there is a video to make a difference in the preview vs. final photo output.

Some things here are probably wrong. Primary offenders can be excessive HDR processing, which applies to the top shot image, while others are left with SDR processing when securing as a copy. There is no way to close the HDR on the Google Camera app, which makes the user feel trapped, and complicates this problem. There is also a similarity between what you see in the View Finder and the final output, so Google can ‘fix’ the situation by offering a better preview, which gives users more ‘realistic’ outputs.

We will be examining this issue more well to determine what the pixel camera has changed with processing, if anyone is. Meanwhile, we are interested in listening to your experiences from your pixel phone. Do you also face color balance problems with your pixel? Are you experiencing aggressive HDR in your photos, and what’s your opinion on it? Which device and which platform update? Tell us in the comments given below!
