  • Google Wallet is eliminating the integration of its PayPal account for US users, which means they will soon lose the ability to use LinkedIn PayPal for payments.
  • The change is in force on June 13, 2025, and Google has already stopped linking new PayPal to US consumers in April.
  • The closure will not affect Google Wallet users in Germany or in the United States, who directly added PayPal Branded Debit Mastercard.

Although Google initially struggled with its digital purse service with branding, it has developed the Google Wallet in a compelling and widely adopted product. Available in several countries, it supports hundreds of banks and passers -by. For years, the Google Wallet has offered the convenience of connecting PayPal accounts, and has saved users from incorporating payment methods in both services. However, this integration is coming to an end soon, at least for US users

a Support pageGoogle has confirmed that it will soon delete LinkedIn PayPal accounts for Google Wallet users in the United States, after which US users cannot repeat their PayPal accounts, as Google has already stopped new signups in April. This means that consumers will no longer be able to access payment methods in their PayPal account for purchases made by Google Wallet.

This change is implemented on June 13, 2025, which has been given less than two weeks to continue to use their affiliated PayPal accounts for payments in less than two weeks. Google has advised affected users to update their payment methods for any frequent payments before this shutdown. However, this change will not affect Google Wallet users who directly added their PayPal Brand Debit Mastercard instead of connecting their PayPal account.

In addition, this change will not affect Google Wallet users in Germany, where PayPal will continue to support the integration. Support page does not explain why the end of the integration is especially ending in the United States, recently PayPal Refusal Enable Liaison Payments for German Consumers its Android and iOS apps. From then on, it is likely that PayPal is shutting down its Google Purse integration in the United States before launching a similar contract lace payment feature, though it is unconstitutional. Why will the integration be retained in Germany then, which is the first country to achieve PayPal’s new feature, is also an open question.

American users who have enjoyed using their PayPal accounts through Google Wallet will undoubtedly be disappointed with this news. Fortunately, the support of the Google Wallet for banks and traders has been significantly expanded since PayPal integration was announced years ago. The affected users should check whether their preferred payment methods are now directly supported through service.
