- Android TV currently offers a discovery tab to get recommendations and make your watch list.
- A new update to the System Launcher suggests that Google Plan is planning to leave and move your watch list to the home tab.
- Confused, Google’s messaging in the app shows that the change was due in July.
How do you use your Android TV? Google’s big screen entertainment platform certainly strives to work as a center that not only manages all of your streaming options in one place, but also helps you to check what you want to check. Are you taking advantage of it, though, checking the Discovery tab to get some recommendations from Google? Or are you more likely to sink in your favorite streaming app, and learn about what is new on the basis of service by service?
We are surprised how many users come to this latter camp – and Google may have been, because it seems that the company is getting ready to discover as we know.

At least, Google certainly looks like Used to Android TV is ready to remove the Discovery tab. We are a little less sure that if this project is still in motion.
Given the changes to Google’s 7.1.78790429-F-update for the Android TV Home app-the Android TV launcher, which provides base UI-we have identified some new text doors that refer to the references to discover.
Code
Your recommendations and watchlist will move to the “Home” tab.
The Discover tab is going away soon
The Home Tab can already serve as a suitable tool to find new content, especially when you add some channel rows for your favorite apps. Stabilizing the discovery recommendations makes it quite understood that if Google wants to clear some spread of Android TV, and it is okay to bring the watch list with fine sounds.
Where is our confusion coming from considering how these strings were read straight? Well, we also find this new door:
Code
The Discover tab was removed in July 2025. Also, customise your recommendation is on Home tab
Your watchlist have moved to Home tab
Today is a sign of the beginning of August, and we are still watching the Discovery tabs on all Android TV devices we’ve checked. More than that, we have not yet revealed the “going away soon” message, which is believed to be a bit a bit before it is removed to consumers.
For this moment, let us confuse us a little about Google’s intentions here. Perhaps the discovery plans have already been canceled, but this unused code has still been able to stick to public construction. Or may the discovery really go away, but Google had to move its timetable a bit.
We will keep an eye on any Android TV updates that can shed more light on company plans.
