Apple’s ‘liquid glass’ design can be an important part of the 20th anniversary iPhone – and the WWDC is rumored to start the first time in 2025.

A new report reveals that a part of the WWDC 2025, a part of iOS 26, could prove to be an important factor in the 20th birthday iPhone design.

Her recently Electricity on the newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gorman claims that Apple’s iOS 26 new interface design, called “liquid glass”, will set the stage for Apple’s future product. Liquid glass is the name given to a set of new elements of the interface that “glass surface sheen and viewer are visual.” According to Gorman, this will mean that the effects of transparency and brightness will be included in “All Apple’s Toolbars, Interfaces and Controls in the app”.

These new design elements are part of the full range of the Apple operating system, which will result in an integrated look in all Apple’s products. However, as Gorman has said, this new design will also be used as a launchpad for the next 20th anniversary iPhone format, which is apparently called the “Glass Wing” expected in 2027. Not only will this device display the design element according to Gorman, but it will have a curved display that will “increase the concept of glass”.

Apple is allegedly working to complete the iPhone 20 fully edge display, which means removing or minimizing the display cutout like a dynamic island. Engineer will be difficult to do, but Apple is allegedly planning to move parts of the dynamic island under the display, such as Front Kong Camera and Face ID.
