When I brought myself to naturally try a client’s dev tool to screen record real developers, the results were the best I’d ever seen. A client determined a handful of friction points and targeted the Product Hunt #1 product of the day and week. Another used insights from 10 developer segments to completely steer their market in a better direction. Recording alone kept the roadmap full for months.
Problem: Driving manually was brutal. My developer network is large, but aligning the right person at the right time on the right channel — that’s not a repeatable business. It’s chaos.
I knew a year ago that it needed to be a product. What I didn’t have yet were the AI ​​tools to make it fully autonomous. In February, I realized that I did. Gemini now handles video analysis. I wrote a script to capture event logs with recordings — actual developer actions, timestamps, every hesitation, every dead end — not just video. The results reports are richer than anything I could produce by hand. And now tracking is continuous, not just during evaluation.
