Hey Producthunt, I’m a codex chat creator. As developers, we will, if not already, spend all of our time in the interfaces that drive AI coding agents. I believe these interfaces should be open and modifiable for your specific needs. Codex Chat is a native Swift UI Liquid Glass Mac app, inspired by ChatGPT and built on Codex App Server. I created CodexChat because I wanted an interface that had mods like a built-in prompt bar (for easily re-entering commands), a summarizer (that captures each turn in 1 line), and remembers what I’m doing in the next file. You can also pair your phone, then send messages in Codex chat sessions running on your computer, customize themes to choose the color of your app, and save all conversation history as native Markdown. It’s still early, and there are definitely rough edges, especially around the new remote control surfaces, but it should already be useful and reliable for real workflows. Log in with your ChatGPT account or OpenAI API key to get started. I’d especially like feedback on: – whether the remote control flow feels genuinely useful or gimmicky – which built-in mods/themes/extensions you want to customize first – what your default codecs client will be on macOS – if you try it and find bugs, please open issues on GitHub. I would love for other people to build on top of it. Download
