- Google and TSMC have allegedly signed a long -term contract to prepare tanker chips for the pixel phone line.
- This is apparently a contract for three to five years and can continue until the release of Pixel 14.
- The TSMC has traditionally created a more efficient processor than the rival Samsung Foundry, which has made all tensor chips to date.
Earlier, Google has relied on Samsung to prepare its tanker chips for Pixel phones, but it will change with the Pixel 10 series later this year. The Top Dog TSMC Pixel 10 is expected to make the G5 processor of TSMC Pixel 10. However, now it seems that it will not be a short -term management.
Digites Reports (H/T: Jonlosario) That Google and TSMC have a three to five years contract to prepare smartphone chips for the pixel series. The outlet adds that the contract will continue to the extent of Pixel 14.
What does this mean for future tensor chips in Pixel phones?
It should be the good news for Google’s pixel phones, as TSMC has long been known for being the best chip in the industry. It was clearly described with 2022 Snapdragon 8 General 1 and Snapdragon 8 Plus General 1 smartphone chips.
The standard chip set was developed by rival Samsung Foundry, while Plus was created by the TSMC. Snapdragon 8 Plus General 1 promoted significant performance than the original chip, but also achieved the performance on a large scale. Earlier, the efficiency performance of the plus chips of the Qualcomm was heard as they are usually the maximum version of their standard high -end processor.

The Samsung’s chipmost business also suffered a major setback with the Galaxy S25 series launch. The Galaxy Sphrodes traditionally run through both Snapdragon and Ecinos chips as part of the dual sourceing strategy. However, the Galaxy S25 series was specially operated by Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor. It is believed that the Samsung Foundry’s new Galaxy phones could not make enough Xinos 2500 chips. Such production is a problem that Google will potentially refrain from switching to the TSMC, though Google does not sell more and more pixel phones as Samsung’s Galaxy Series.
We are expecting that the 3NM manufacturing process of TSMC in Tancer G5 will increase significant performance compared to previous chips. So we are expecting the Pixel 10 series to offer good battery life. However, our own reporting shows that the new chip will be upgraded to a renewed performance. Meanwhile, our previous tanker G6 leaks suggest that Pixel 11 can actually be a down grade. Nevertheless, a long -term partnership between Google and TSMC is well better for the future of the tanker chips and the pixel line.
