One of our favorite features on the best Samsung phone is Dax, which allows you to plug your smartphone into a monitor and use it as a desktop. Now Google’s own version is cooking, with Android 16’s latest beta Blood offered to peek into Google’s new Android desktop mode that works.
These rumors have been wandering since last March that Google has been working on a system to allow consumers to run a chromeus from a pixel smartphone and run it on an external monitor, but now we have the first glimpse that will look like. Android Authority The Google Pixel 8 Pro was able to manually activate desktop mode under developer options while running the latest Android 16 beta.
Once the USB-C is tied up to a synchronized monitor, it shows an interface like a PC like Samsung’s dex, as you can see in the video below.
Based on the video, Google’s desktop mode looks like it combines the convenience of communicating with the best Android tablets with Windows PC -like functionality with which we are used on the PC.
When a monitor is decorated, the pixel shows the Android Task Bar below with the phone pin and recent apps. In addition, there is a place on the task bar where you will find an app in the same vein, such as the Windows Start Menu as well as the ancestral navigation buttons of Android.
You can launch a number of apps in Windows at the same time as well as draw the windows in the same way as you can go to the desktop. Best of all, you can continue to use the phone when desktop winding is enabled.
It’s all ready to turn your phone into a multi -tasking machine. Like Dex, it may be that we have a computer that fits in our pocket because of how it copies the desktop PC experience.
There is no word yet when this feature will end. The Android Authority said that it is suspected that we will see desktop mode with the launch of Android 16 at the end of this spring. Initially we are likely to see that Android 17 lives at some point next year.
