Help! My therapist is stealthily using Chat GPT

by SkillAiNest

Late this is my favorite AI story, perhaps because it captures chaos so well that can be revealed when people in fact use AI as tech companies have everything but they have been told.

As the author of the story, Lori Clark said, “It is not a complete pipe dream that AI can be useful in therapeutic treatment.” Earlier this year, I wrote about the first clinical trial of the AI boot built for therapy. The results were promising! But the secret use of AI models by therapists that has not been tested for mental health is very different. I talked to Clark to hear more about it.

I have to say, I am really attracted that people called their physicians after knowing that they were secretly using AI. How did you interpret the reaction of these physicians? Were they trying to hide it?

In all cases mentioned in the piece, therapist did not first revealed how they were using AI to their patients. So they were clearly trying to hide it or not, when it was discovered, it ended. I think for this reason, one of my main way to write a piece was to reveal the physicians when they are going to use AI and how (if they intend to use it). If they do not do so, it raises really uncomfortable questions for patients when it is exposed and threatens that the confidence is damaged in irreversible.
