Hey Ph! I’m Shalin, creating Hyper with my co-founder Kines.
At our last company (a robotics startup), the most important decisions were never made in scheduled meetings. It happened spontaneously (in the hallways, at lunch, on walks). None of this was caught. And every recorder we’ve tried was made for Zoom calls with agendas, not real life.
What we found was that even the tools that capture your conversation give you a document, a summary, or notes as the final sample. And then what? You’ll file it away somewhere, never open it again, and three weeks later you’re in another meeting saying “Wait, what did we decide about the deadline?”
We think the whole paradigm is wrong. You don’t want better documentation than your conversation. You want answers to your questions.
So we created Hyper. It’s an iOS app where you tap to record any conversation (1:1 with your cofounder, coffee chat, stand-up, brainstorming session). Hyper then transcribes in real-time, and you can ask it mid-conversation questions (“Hey Hyper, what did we decide about pricing last time?”) without interruption. Then, it generates notes and gives you one-tap follow-ups (email drafts, Slack messages) that are integrated locally on your phone.
We’re starting with this, but in the long run, we’d like to build a memory layer into every important conversation you have. No files or folders or manual organization, just ask and get an answer. We’re building a system that can resolve conflicting information, surface-level decisions, and solve the most complex problems your team faces.
We are currently two founders, self-funded, building in SF. The design is intentionally bold and a bit odd. We wanted something that felt a little more fun than traditional enterprise software, and ultimately something we could fall in love with.
