They have their own opinions expressed by business partners.

I will never forget the call: A movie audition with Robert de Nero.

As soon as I heard his name, my brain circulates short. De Nero. Godfather Heat Goodphillas. How can’t I engage?

As the big day approached, I wandered. It was not just one more audition. It was Audition

  • What if this is my big break? What if I blow it up?
  • What should I wear? Am I watching part?
  • What if I forget my lines? What if I say how to speak?
  • Maybe I’m not ready. Maybe I’m not so good.
  • But what if I am?

The pressure was electric. Hope and fear danced wild in my chest and regardless of how much I tried, my imagination continued.

It was The moment that can change the speed of my life and my career – and I blown it.

But the lesson I took from this failed audition proved to be more valuable than any character. He completely denied how I walk in the room, command a stage and coach others so that they can show and show in their own higher stake moments.

The moment taught me – and you can use it to pitch, present or perform it with confidence and explanation.

1. The mindset shapes everything

Before I entered the room, my first mistake was. In my head, Dao was massively: tHis life is changing. Do not mess with it. You have to nail.

I was already defeated. I was not grounded or focused. I was screaming. What I didn’t know at the moment – but now teaches every client – what: Your mentality is your basis. Walk in any room thinking, I have earned it. These shifts speak to you alone and what others react.

2. Pay attention to the moment, not the result

Secondly, I started to imagine acting in the De -Nero film, I stopped staying. I was thinking about my future, I don’t have two pages of the script.

When you obsess the results – the contract, yes, the applause – you remember the only thing that matters: the moment. Ask yourself: What do this person need from me right now? Then supply.

3. Take it one step at a time

I was very focused on the future, I left the first step: the first impression.

In auditions, pitches and presentations, there is no warm -up act. The first 10 seconds – how do you walk, how you greet, how you are integrated – set the tone for everything. You don’t always get a second chance. Nail to one first.

4. Walk like you

I came with what I now call “please choose me” energy. Instead of owning a place, I entered it – thankful but almost apologized for being there. Thanksgiving is powerful. But not when it makes you small.

If you were invited to the room, you are there for some reason. Do not ask for permission to take place. Stand at your price.

5. Stop trying to impress – start trying to connect

I performed more. I tried to be inspiring so that I slipped on my words and made my delivery outraged. Not much better. It’s still more.

What makes your message a land is simplicity, emotional truth and links. Ask: If this was my last chance to speak, what do I want to make them feel?

6. Prepare like an actor

I knew my lines. But I didn’t practice. I did not ground myself nor prepared my body for the moment. Clients often tell me that they have “practiced” – but they really mean that they edited their slides or memorized content.

But the presence is physical. Stand up Breathe Imagine a room. Your voice, currency and energy are part of your message. Not with them, not around them.

7. Learn to reset in real time

I knew that was not going well, but I didn’t know how to recover. I was stuck in my head. Now, I teach people to make an internal reset buttons. A breath a change in a pause stand. Anything that brings you back to the center.

Things go away from the script all the time. Power does not come from being flawless. It comes from knowing how to find your destination again.

8. Don’t be stuck in the past

The car ride home was brutal. I re -run the audition on a loop – every rotation, every fella. Reflection is important. But don’t go around. Take lessons Leave the rest.

May never give you auditions for a de Nero movie, but you Equivalent Moments at a high stake-at a stage, in the boardroom, from someone who can change your business or life speed.

When you get there, remember: The secret of being a room is not perfect. It is present, ready and fully present.

That’s what people remember. That is what wins in the room.
