Question 4. I think you often cooperate with experts from different fields. What are the charming and challenges of such an intercontinental concrete work?

The biggest charming ‘unexpected discoveries’ of the concrete work. When experts gather to find different languages and ways of thinking, you have to face new perspectives and ideas that I could never be alone. In collaboration with an architect, I was forced to consider the integration of physical space and digital experience, and working with a psychologist was an interesting experience to detect a nerve basis because why a person feels comfortable or anxiety with specific interactions.

Of course, there are many problems. It begins with understanding of each other’s professional terms, and since our very different views about problems are different, we sometimes have to spend a lot of time in discussion to eliminate the difference. However, this process itself becomes a valuable asset that expands my thinking. I believe that successful harmony is not just to include individual knowledge, but rather a chemical reaction between different walks of knowledge that produces something new.

Question 5. What capabilities would you advise for future designers and dreamed of becoming an artist?

In addition to ‘sympathy,’ integrated thinking skills’, and ‘constant learning and the attitude of experiences’, I want to add two more things.

First ‘The ability to ask your questions.’ In addition to finding answers to the world’s problems, you must be able to discover the issues that the world has not yet recognized and raised your questions. That is what creates your origin.

Is the second ‘The ability to verbalize your work.’ You must explain the philosophy and action behind your designs and arts logically and sometimes emotionally. Even a wonderful idea loses its power if not properly communicated. Permanently entrust your writing, presentation, and conversation skills.

Question 6. Finally, I would like to know about your future plans for research and artwork, or your ultimate goal.

As a design educator, my goal is to help students develop in creators with a solid personal philosophy that is uncomfortable due to technological changes. I want to nurture the capabilities that not only handle the technology well, but the technology shows deep insights about humanity and society.

As an artist, I want to continue my search for senses and physical status in the digital age. I am imagining experimental tasks on how to give our minds and bodies a virtual and enlarged reality, and how digital data can connect with our emotions. Finally, I will be happy if my design and art can offer people a small relief and new ideas to plant seeds. I want to prove that the development of technology, in the end, should start with warm eyes towards human life.
