- Proton has launched a new AI Assistant Lumo that is dedicated to your privacy
- Here is a free version, and is a paid plus version with premium features
- You can use LUMO in a web browser or via apps on iOS and Android
Swiss company Proton, behind apps, including Protone Mail and Proton VPN, has launched its first AI Product: Lumo.
Lomo is an open source AI assistant designed with emphasis on privacy. You can use it all the uses for which you will use chatgot, such as summarizing documents, helping in code, or rewriting emails, but you will be safe in the knowledge that what you share with the Lomo is completely confidential, and is only able to read on your device.
Proton guarantees that none of the information you give to Lomo will be used for LLM training and cannot be shared with a third party.
I have recently written about the dangers of handing over sensitive information, which is much more intimate than finding AI companies or browsing history, so Lomo’s arrival is timely.
The dangers of Big Tech
The founder and CEO of Proton, Lomo, announced Andy Yin, saying: “When we launched the Proton Mail for the first time a decade ago, our vision was to make a better alternative to the Big Tech ecosystem for the benefit of all society.
“For this reason, we understand that it is important to provide an alternative that protects privacy and presents consumers against their exploitation. AI should not be the most powerful surveillance tool in the world, and our vision for Lumo is AI, which keeps people ahead of profit.”
So, if you are looking for a European alternative for large US and Chinese tech companies that are currently dominating the AI market, Lomo can be a good idea.
Lomo has launched with key tools, which we expect an AI these days included a web search, which has been closed for privacy but can be turned on. It has the ability to upload and analyze the files, but unlike other AI assistants, you have no record of any documents uploading you.
Finally, Lomo has a proton dubbing integration to add files to chats. The files will be encrypted from the end to the end.
You can use Lomo for free, or upgrade to $ 12.99 (about £ 9 / AU $ 20) in a month in Lomo Plus. Lomo Plus gives you premium features that include unlimited chats, expansion chat history, unlimited chat favorite, and the ability to upload numerous and large files in Lomo.
You can now sign up on Lumo.Proton.me now LumoFor, for, for,. And there are apps for iOS and Android. Since we have just been launched, we have not yet had the opportunity to compare the loomo with more established chat boats like Chattagpat and Gemini, but you may be sure that we will put it at its speed soon.
