Foxkin recently won’t make a power tractor for California’s start -up Monacher tractor after Taiwan Tech Dev sold his Ohio Factory to the Softbank.
Monick’s CEO Parveen Penemita confirmed this news LinkedIn these comments Tuesday. He also said that his company worked with Foxkin to “build inventory” before the factory sale, noting the start that “spare parts, as well as, is enough to meet consumers’ demand for the next 12 months.”
“In the coming weeks, we will share more about our plans for introducing more king products in the market through a new manufacturing partnership,” Penimeta wrote.
After sale, it is expected that the soft bank will work with Foxkin to use the factory to use it to manufacture equipment for the Star Gate AI project, headed by Openi and Oracle.
Foxkin purchased the former General Motors Factory from EV Startup Lord Stown Motors in 2022. Foxkin’s chairman, Young Liu, said that the facility was “the most important manufacturing and R&D hub of electric vehicles in North America.”
Monacke was one of the four companies that Foxkin had developed as an electric vehicle contract manufacturing operation as users (or potential users) who tried to set up in the former General Motors Factory. Foxkin made a few hundred tractors for the king in the plants, but is struggling. Last year, he had passed through two cycles of six. And with the collapse of the California liquor industry, new types of users had to face quickly.
The other three companies, Foxkin, wanted to make vehicles that they all filed for bankruptcy. While Foxkin made a handful of Lord Stown Motors pickup in the plant, 2023 went under the startup. The other two potential consumers were Fusker Inc. and was a small start in California called Influx. Foxkin never built any vehicles for these companies in the factory, and they too have been both since being out of business.
