Pew says the left -handed bearing influence X hugs Bluesky without abandoning X

It is no surprise that many big, left-leaning social media accounts have recently joined Bluesky-but A new analysis The Pew Research Center seeks to correct the amount of change.

It comes as a refreshing Pew’s News Infloys Report It was released in November 2024, in which Bluesky was not included in the number. This report focuses on a relatively 500 smal group of influence, all of which have more than 100,000 followers on at least one large platform and post regularly about current events.

For this Bluesky Central Update, Pew looked at those who influenced the same (as contrary to the accounts in which Blasky would have found a special audience specially) and he saw that in February/March, 43 % of them had an account on Bluesky. After the 2024 presidential election, only half of these accounts were made (51 %).

There is a huge distribution between those who influenced the right and left, which have 69 % of the accounts on the left (which were clearly identified as liberals or Democrats and before the presidential election, Kamla Harris or Joe Biden’s support was expressed), while Bluesky jumped only.

This movement was not necessarily at the expense of X (formerly Twitter). Although X owner Elon Musk’s alliance with President Donald Trump is now transmitting new consumers to Bluesky, 82 % of the influence tracked by Pew was still an account on X, which was slightly below 85 % in 2025.

In other words, even if the influence on the left is drowning their feet in Bluesky, most of them (87 %) have not abandoned X. Pew also says that most influences are posting more regularly on X than Bluesky.

However, the Bluesky activity appears to be increasing – the number of those affecting Bluesky, who is actually posting the post, has increased from 54 % in the first week of January to 66 % in the last week of March.
