The latest version of Q2 wireless standard Is coming in iPhones and some Android Handsets. It has also found a sharp, new branding of QI 2 25W, showing the speed of wireless charging, which is better than the previous name of the Qi -2.
The big hook here is fine. Q2 25W provides up to 25 watts of power supply to compatible products, which is a 66 % increase compared to the already existing Q2 platform. “The QI -2 25W will significantly encourage the use of wireless charging wireless charging and accelerate the adoption of new standards,” says Paul Strawskar, executive director of wireless power consortium (WPC).
New iPhones already use Q2 standard, so it is not so surprising to adopt the company’s upcoming Q2 25W, though this is a welcome news. However, most Android phones have never been Qi2-certified, so this is a potential game-changing event for the platform. Some Android phones can technically connect QI2 charging, but it usually requires a magnetic case.
Smartphones is the only latest category to adopt the QI 2 25W. Multiple products, including power bank and charger, Were certified earlier this month. Q2 25W, when it was called Q 2.2, was announced for the first time in April. The WPC says there are “several hundred” devices in the queue that are looking forward to experimenting and getting official certification. We do not yet know which Android phones are in this row.
