Hey Product Hunt! Kevin is here from the Spot team.
Spot starts with three friends: Manu, Lander and Samuel. They met eight years ago while studying business engineering at KU Leuven, all ended up in management consulting (McKinsey, BCG, and Bain), and all roamed freely through projects for staffing and recruiting agencies in Europe, the UK, and the Middle East.
Each of them noticed the same thing: recruiters spent half their day on logging activities instead of making appointments. ATS system that stored data but never did anything with it. When they started comparing notes, they realized that they all came to the same frustration and the same idea.
Their first instinct was sensible: add AI on top of existing platforms like Bullhorn and Salesforce. It didn’t work. You can put a chatbot on a relational database, but you can’t truly understand the context. So they made a difficult choice. Quit their jobs. Start from scratch.
He applied to Y Combinator with a candidate report writer. By demo day, they’ll gravitate toward a fully AI-native ATS built on a vectorized database that understands the meaning of everything stored in it, not just keywords. After 60 investor meetings, they raised $3.2M led by twenty 10 partners.
Today SPOT is used by recruiting firms on every continent. We’re building toward a platform that handles most of the recruiting workflow autonomously, so recruiters can focus on what really requires human judgment: relationships, negotiation, and knowing whether someone will grow in a role.
Would love your feedback!
