- Samsung is already present in Auto China as an Android auto replacement but requires specific regional software and hardware to work.
- “Samsung Auto Dex” refers to a unofficial functioning work that can activate Samsung auto functionality on non -support -headed units through desktop mode casting.
- Despite the ongoing speculations, we cannot find the certified evidence that shows that the Samsung is formally producing “auto -dex” as a separate feature.
Android Auto and Apple Corplay are the two most popular ways to use your smartphone features through your car head unit. Apple Corplay is compatible with all recent iPhones, while Android Auto is practically compatible with all Android phones that have Google Play services, so most people do not wonder why other OEMs like Samsung are not working on their implementation. Recently, Samsung’s rounds started working on a feature called “Samsung Auto Dex”, which many claim to be Android auto replacement. The truth about the Samsung Auto Dex is a bit complicated, though, so listen to me.
First notifications about Samsung Auto Dex
x User Galaxy Tech Samsung’s “Auto Dex” showed “first look” on functionality. The user claims that this feature supports more than 8,500 car models in more than 120 car brands.

Moreover, the user claims that Samsung Auto Dex can be used even if your car does not support it, and even if you don’t have the first place. Working on this dex is claimed even if the phone does not support Dax.
Follow -up posts, X user too Mention That the Samsung Auto Dex will not replace Android Auto. However, the user too Noted That Samsung is bringing its own version of Android Auto. Despite the contradictory sound, both of these statements are correct, but a lot of context on what the Samsung auto -dex is actually is.
So, what is Samsung Auto Dex?
Before we answer what the Samsung Auto Dex is, it is important to lay the foundation for Samsung Auto.
What is Samsung Auto, and is it really present?
Samsung already has an Android auto replacement in the form of Samsung auto. Yes, Samsung Auto is already there, but it is limited to regions like China where Android Auto does not work (because Google Play Services are not there, which requires Android Auto).
Samsung has not mentioned any plans to bring Samsung Auto to global markets, nor has the company shared any reasons that it does not already provide a feature for its galaxy smartphones in international markets. Possibly, there may be immunity agreements with Google to continue using Android Auto to avoid fragments with Google, but there may also be operational reasons, such as localization and distribution challenges.
Samsung Auto is already there, but it is limited to regions like China where Android auto works.
Reddater Frostiad 7433 Explains that if you want to use Samsung Auto outside China, just install Samsung auto app Your galaxy smartphone will not work. You will only need the Bido Carlief+ plugin developed from Samsung in the Chinese version of the Samsung App Store. If you manage to find a mirror and also install the plugin on your Galaxy device, you can work at the Samsung Auto Head Unit.
Reddater Frostiad 7433 had already shared some UI screenshots a month ago, but it is still interesting for those of us who were missing the memo at the time:
Using the Samsung Auto outside China has access to the “compatible head unit”. The Reddater used the Ford Sink 3 Head Unit to get these screenshots, a head unit model that is the same in all regions and markets. The head unit still needs to be restructured and configured as a “Chinese” unit to unlock Bedo Support and finally run the Samsung Auto.
Samsung Auto Dex: Lost context
We had access to the modern Samsung AutoPP and reviewed the code within it. Unfortunately, the only mention of “Auto Dex” is one of the package names, but there is nothing in the App Code. Although it does not mean with confidence that the feature does not exist, it points to that direction.
It turns out that Samsung Auto Dex is not a real feature after all. This name is used to identify unofficial work that hooks in an environment like Dax, Samsung Auto. This makes it easier for Samsung to access non -Chinese head units. The work round includes enabled desktop mode on the secondary display and install a recipient app to allow it to get a cast session from the phone.
The Samsung Auto Dex is a non -governmental work name that makes it easy to access non -Chinese head units to Samsung Auto.
If you do this successfully, you will find the same UI shared by the X -user Galaxy Taki. You can see the Dex Navigation Bar in their screenshots, which usually does not mean to the car -focused UI.
Hopefully, this describes some mystery about the Samsung auto -dex, though it does not answer some questions. One, the auto -dexus is still throwing us in the name of the package. It may be that Samsung is really working on your phone to mobilize experience like Android Auto/Samsung Auto and then make the entire experience a mirror in the car head unit, thus justifying the name “Auto Dex”. We have not yet been able to find the code that is happening right now, so make whatever you want.
