Vocals An open source alternative to WisprFlow

I have been using this app Voquill for the last four days, and I am writing this based on my experience during the one week trial. I installed both the Windows version on my laptop and the Android app on my smartphone.

First of all, I would like to thank the developer for supporting my mother tongue Bangla. It’s one of the few apps that offers such robust support for the language spoken by nearly 300 million people, especially in speech recognition.

The installation was smooth on my laptop, but I ran into some issues on the smartphone. The app takes over the default keyboard, which makes manual typing difficult. Every time I want to type, I have to go back to Gboard from settings. It’s quite painful, and I hope they improve it.

In terms of speed, the transcription is fast, and I am very satisfied with its performance. Accuracy in English is almost 100%, which is little to complain about. It also works seamlessly across various textbooks and websites.

Another great feature is the option to use your own API key for free. I tested it, and it worked well, although it was a bit slower than the default setup. Still, I appreciate that they offer this flexibility at no cost.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience and wish the team success. This app can save users time and energy significantly.
