Vodafone Idea Partners with AST Space Mobile to Bringing Device Satellite Connectivity directly to India

Vodafone Idea (VI) on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with the US -based satellite technology company AST space mobile to introduce direct device satellite broadband contact in India. With this move, the purpose of the telecommunication provider is to increase broadband -based cellular access to challenging regions, where deployment of infrastructure is difficult. Taking advantage of the satellite technology company’s space mobile satellite system, the new service will be directly connected to smartphones without special software, firmware updates, or device support.

In a press noteSixth, said that AST space mobile space -based cellular broadband ecosystem will enhance its telecommunication service services to provide voice and video calls, data streaming, and internet access to challenging locations and non -affiliated areas across India.

According to the VI, its directly -based satellite -based broadband connectivity is associated with the country’s digital India move. “Since satellite -based mobile access becomes a reality in India, we look forward to launching a new era of smooth and flexible communication”, VI’s chief marketing officer said in a statement.

Specifically, Space Mobile Satellite System is a Satellite -based cellular broadband network It is designed for both commercial and government requests. To provide services, it uses a low land orbit satellite tower, which enables users to access their network in remote areas without any modification of the device. Cellular service providers do not need to be replaced by using this service. Instead, it works with telecom operators to provide an optional contact option where traditional cell site coverage is limited or unavailable.

In addition to directly to the device satellite broadband contact, VI and AST space mobile will also cooperate with users, enterprises, iOT (Internet of things) and other sectors.
