VOI’s CEO says he is open to get the bolt’s micromobility business

by SkillAiNest

The combined micromobility startup is looking for VOI acquisition. And CEO Frederick Hajelum’s desire list is bolt, which is a European Mobility Super app that is known for riding health.

It is not that Bolt’s micromobility business is essentially for sale. VOI is buying company Scotter and motorcycle arm. When the Tech Crunch arrived, Bolt refused to comment.

“Bolt is a huge company, but he is primarily a ride -powered company,” Hajelum told the Tech Crunch on Stage at the Micromobility Industries Round Table in Brussels, where Bird co -CEO Michael Vasheshi and Dot/Terre CEO Henry Mousik.

The challenge of the bolt is that it needs to be “very good in many vertical”, Hajilm said. In addition to avoiding the ride, the bolt offers the grocery and food supply as well as the car fare.

“Micromobility is very difficult, and has a hardware aspect, but the network has no effect, such as the supply of grocery (which), with the help of food delivery and ride, said.”

He noted that most people who raise a postage e -scooter or e -bike are locals who prefer experience and affordability rather than the ability to use a “super app” like a bolt.

When there is an example of riders that use micromobility services because they recognize this brand – and maybe no one else wants to download – it is based on this article. Hjelm said he does not think that the brand’s identity is enough to fulfill a worse user’s experience.

Of course, there is no data that VOI offers a better user experience than bolts. It did not stop others from joining the Bolt Pile on the panel.

“Bolt uses the price loss as a leader,” said Bird’s Washanoshi, referring to Bolt’s ability to rely on revenue from his other tasks to increase its micromobile business. “They exempt the price, and so they get installed. I realize that they do not invest too much in really good operations in micromobility.”

Washanoshi noted that birds, as well as dot and vivie, use a lot of data to balance vehicles.

“You can throw thousands of vehicles and hope that people can get a ride, or you … these half of these vehicles can be kept in the right place and at the right time to improve the rides and improve the price,” he said. “And this (how) the business has really developed in the last two or three years … which, for us, makes it a very self -maintaining business.”

In 2024, Bird said it received $ 19 million in Abbetda’s profits – enough feat for a company that had worked on the stock market and filed two years ago for bankruptcy. VOI also acquired his first lucrative year last year with a.97.9 million adjusted Abbotta.

Bolt has not shared a financial number for his micro -mobility business. In November 2024, the company said it had hit 1 2.11 billion in annual revenue In his business units, but he did not say how much he lost. According to Local reportsBolt recorded revenue of about $ 2 billion in operating loss of $ 108 million in 2023.

Tech Crunch on Wednesday tried to follow him with Hajilam as to why he wants to get a bolt and has he been in talks with the company.

He replied, “I am in the Swedish House Mafia Reunion and I will think about Bolt tomorrow.”

The Tech Crunch will update this story if Hajilam has to say more on the matter.
