The WhatsApp is allegedly working on a feature that will make users easier to view and manage all the media received or sent using the WhatsApp Web. It is expected that a new united media browser, which is currently in development, will be exposed to the WhatsApp web users in the future. The WhatsApp already offers a similar unified media section on the WhatsApp for Android and iOS, which facilitates users to view all media on chats and groups on their smartphone.

Wabetainfo managed to enable the user’s interface for this feature and shared a screenshot that estimates what we would expect from the next chat media center. When the app is launched, users will see photos, videos and GIFs from all the chats in their account.
The incoming center will also show two additional tabs that show all links and documents in all their WhatsApp chats. Unlike the media viewers who show content in the grid layout, documents, and links will provide additional contexts, including the name of the sender and when the file or the link was sent.
The feature tracker also states that the media will support the hub batch operations, which will allow users to select and download, forward, or delete several files. It also shows a search bar and sorting button, which is said to allow content to sort according to date or size.
The biggest advantage of the new Unified Chat Media Hub is the ability to quickly identify large media files to delete, which can free the space on the user’s computer. It can also help users find the media, links, or documents, especially when they can’t remember when and where they were sent or received.
Currently, it is unclear whether the media will remove the hub media, documents, and the link from closed chats, or WhatsApp will allow users to enter their secret code and display them. We can expect to find more information about this feature after betting in the future.
