Famous investor Mark Anderson met with government officials about the future of Tech last May, he was “very scared” and called these meetings “absolutely terrifying”. He told reporter Bari Weiss this week on his podcast that these meetings played a key role in why Trump endorsed.
What made him most frightened was what some people said about the role of the government in AI, and he described as a young staff who were “radical” and “out for blood” and whose policy ideas would be “harmful” to his and the Silicon Valley’s interests.
He assumed that he confirmed the government to control the government as a market maker, which led to the development of only one of the two companies cooperating with the government. He felt that he discouraged her investment in AI. He said, “He really told us a flat, ‘Don’t start AI startup like, don’t fund AI startup.”
Obviously, we do not know how other people in the meeting will remember such discussions, or even who met him. But we can understand why such ideas, especially for Anderson, will be terrible: his firm has supported AI startups like Elon Musk, Mr. AI, and Character.
It is worth noting that in June 2023, much before these meetings, Anderson appeared A manifesto called “Why will save the world”, in which he warned against AI regulation. So this is an area that has been in his mind for a while.
Publicly, the administration has taken less stringent measures around the AI, which is remembered by Anderson. In October 2023, President Joe Biden issued an executive order that contained a series of voluntary promises for AI companies. This includes the inclusion of companies to share the results of the security tests with the government, and Congress was demanded to assess how AI companies are collecting data.
At that time, the order received mixed reviews from the Silicon Valley. Open’s Sam Altman tweeted that, while there were “some major parts” of the move, “innovation must not be reduced by small companies/research teams.”

The book right now
The next administration, so far, identifies its game plans with AI startups, especially with AI startups. Earlier this month, Trump announced that investor VC David Sex would be his AI and Cryptozar, after which both the opposite and harassment confirmed that he would donate 1 million Million to Trump’s opening fund. “President Trump will take our country to AI’s age, and I am desperate to support his efforts to ensure that the United States remains ahead,” said in a statement. Bloomberg News.
Anderson himself has spent half of his time in the election since the election. He confirmed the speculation to the Weiss that he was involved in Elon Musk’s Dodge Initiative, and described himself as a “unpaid volunteer”. He also said, in Mar-Lago, he has been “involved in some interviews for some incoming officials.”
Anderson said he feels hopeful about Trump’s tech approach, saying that Trump told him, “I don’t know much about tech, but I don’t need it, because you guys know a lot about it. You people should build tech companies.
