API – Convert your web page to hardware accelerated video with Pagecorder.

by SkillAiNest

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Philippe, and I created Pagecorder because converting web content to video has always been unnecessarily painful. Existing tools like Puppeteer do not support simple, hardware-accelerated video and audio recording. Pagecorder takes a different approach: run your page in a real browser with GPU rendering, capture screen + audio natively at 60 FPS, deliver MP4. The entire integration is two JavaScript calls and one API request on your page. A few design decisions I’m proud of: – ZIP archive mode: bundle your HTML + assets, host a ZIP, and get a fully playable recording without any network hesitation or CDN clutter. – Each task returns dropped frames, HTTP errors, and a console log for debugging. No failures in the black box. – 5 minutes free per month for testing, then billing per second. – Supports any resolution up to 4K. Even weird ones like 1234×2345. Go wild! Some of the things people are using it for: creating social media videos from HTML templates, recording animated dashboards, automating product demos, rendering CSS/Canvas/WebGL motion graphics as MP4. Fun fact: Pagecorder was originally created to record YouTube content, and it’s still the #1 use case in production today. The pipeline is fully scriptable: render your video as an HTML page (CSS, Canvas, or WebGL), add two JavaScript calls, post to the API, get back an MP4 ready to upload. 60 FPS with audio, any resolution up to 4K, including 1080×1920 vertical format YouTube Shorts wanted. The entire render-to-MP4 step becomes one API call. No video editor, no ffmpeg, no headless browser juggling. What will you build with it? I’m happy to dig into the technical details (browser setup, GPU pipeline, why zip archives beat live URLs) and answer any questions in the comments. Try this:
