Hook Deck | Reliable webhook infrastructure

by SkillAiNest

Hi Product Hunters 👋 I lead DX at Hookdeck and work on parts of the Outpost SDKs, documentation and codebase.

When we envisioned the event destinations and started building Outpost as the first open source implementation, we thought it would be interesting and hopefully it would take off. It is much better than we expected. Since the beta, we’ve worked hard with the open source community and users, and one of the things we hadn’t specifically planned for was a managed version, but the demand was clear enough that we built it. That’s what’s launching today with open source v1.0.

A checkpoint is a manifestation of event destinations. Platforms need to deliver events where their customers actually want them, and offer a really solid webhook option. HTTP isn’t going anywhere, but for many use cases, it’s better to deliver directly to a queue, stream, or broker. Outpost covers both, and is the best outbound event infrastructure currently available. It’s simple, and comes with really solid DX and ease of integration.

Outpost also fills an obvious gap on the agent side. Many companies are building with agents, for agents, or with agents, and event infrastructure is fundamental to many of the things they need. Agents need to be triggered by events, and agents need to fire events when things happen within their workflow. On task completion, on state changes, and on handoff. This is what enables agent-to-agent communication, event-driven agent initiation, and workflows where the output of one agent triggers the execution of another agent.

Always look for feedback on the product in general and on the DX in particular.
